Memory Frames Poem by Joey Beltran

Many people disregard painting frames.
Often the center of attention is at what is held by it.
It is even known, that to negatively comment on a painting, one would
say - 'I love the frame'.
Therefore, shifting the attention to what is considered ignorable.


Sometimes, people would put memories in frames.
Some believe it helps them focus on what is important to consider
and take away the clatter and the noise,
collecting only what is precious to remember.


Presence really matters when it comes to love, as they say
And distance really kills the joy of being in love.
Like painting frames, many would really not find any meaning to it
And so many falter even to the thought


At the outset, I was captivated by your smile.
The imagery of you in my memory frames were so precious
That neither distance nor time can hinder me now from telling you
That I was and am now so in love with you.
