Mental Injury* Poem by Thabani Khumalo

Mental Injury*

At this of age of characteristic maturity
I get to socially observe the castic stages of human behavior.
I feel as if I am among a world that continues to run backwards.
Running backwards is the source of all forms of physical injury
and physical injury impinges insanity into the mind.

How did so much mental injury come to affect so many people I see?
Take note, a mentality is a mathematical system
encrypted by existing manipulating waves to the functions of the human body.
While man is still seeking the answer from the right hand side,
I know it is on the left... or the direct opposite.

It is only on the right hand when it writes from the depths of love.
Every word I hear is a fraction of deep levels of poetry -
I write my words leery enough to erase a dangerous mind of physical laziness.
Laziness is a phenomenon of danger, thus laziness is volatile.

Human soul is naturally unsatisfied with despondency,
therefore indolent action is deadly.
My mother Zanda told me words that were completely true therefore poetic.
She told me that I am too beautiful to put scars on other people`s faces.
She also said that people who feel ugly always start a fight.

All my words are devine because above all human knowledge
that may also be given by God or school,
as my greatest ancestor was so am I.
It comes not in a lesser degree that...
I am royal blood.

Your mother said you were TOO BEAUTIFUL TO PUT SCARS ON OTHER PEOPLE'S FACES and that PEOPLE WHO FEEL UGLY ALWAYS START A FIGHT. Her words indicate a poetical turn of mind. Your message is encouraging: divine words can counteract laziness, otherwise we are caged by mental injury.
