Message To Poets Poem by ANKWASA HARLORD

Message To Poets

Poetry has been in rackets
Deamed broken against the system
Imprisoned, caged,
You did not lose your zest
to keep it alive,
You stood tall like the Rwenzori
Long like the great Kiira
Birds singing your name
And carrying your fame.
Whenever you pass
A storm is your wake;
Though the path is slippery
Don't lose your stability
Shine like the moon in darkness
Or sun above all
Keep the candle burning.
