Metropolis Moment Poem by empty shell

Metropolis Moment

siren in the distance
cold air through metal vents
rabid dog tossing in nightmarish fit
crazy yells at life
I watch you breathing
congested and laboured

greasy hair matted, covering your face
sweat stained wrinkled clothes

ancient furnace fails
cricket made symphony
sleeping canine chasing a car
your body soaked wet
aroma filled room
I inhale it all in

your chest slowly rises as your lungs fill up
our eyes now connect
exhale together
(simultaneously)
goodnight my soul
