Microwave Society Poem by Snake Blocker

Microwave Society

Take time to dance and sing and laugh.
We are so distracted by the rush of moving from task to task.
We easily forget our childhood.
We forget our celebrations.
It's time to dance and sing and laugh again.

A child wants to dance and sing and laugh and we tell them to stop.
An elderly lady dances in the rain and we tell her it's not safe.
A young man shouts for joy over the birth of a child and we tell him to keep it down.
We have forgotten the true joys of life.
We need to dance and sing and laugh again.

I pray for strength when I'm too weak to dance.
I pray for my voice when I'm exhausted from work.
I pray for laughter when the world brings me down.
I need to dance and sing and laugh again.

Climb because God gave us mountains.
Dive because God gave us the seas.
Hike because God gave us nature.
Dance because God gave us the stars.
Sing because God gave us music.
And laugh because God gave us each other

We need to dance and sing and laugh again.
