Mid-Summer Ruminations Poem by indira babbellapati

Mid-Summer Ruminations

a sudden gust
of wind from somewhere
strikes on a summer noon
or evening or close to night
coolness and dust
equally descend
on us and the house

a small cool respite
for a blink!

pickled mango
out to dry in the sun
thin wafers
diligently arranged
to be dried and packed
for the year through
a sudden showers
abrupt winds

mother looks lost!
