Midnight Love Feast Poem by Leila Vignozzi

Midnight Love Feast

Rating: 4.0

Our souls, submerged by water, late at night, in darkness
bodies intertwined
corpses, touching each other-
naked
a party of souls, legs, breasts, feet, hands
trying not to drown and if it happens whatever because we are together and I couldn't care less about the world
and there is me, you, wet, white, flesh, bright, skin, sky, lips, dry-
and we are endless as this dark
endless as the bark of the wolves to the moon, at midnight
endless as the gleaming sparkling feeling of imported white wine
endless, I say, in despite
of all the stories we heard about life,
when endless as eternity itself, we fly
endless in this night, should we be endless until the light
comes to endlessly renew the fight?
I say we're endless against life,
endless in our minds,
endless creatures, under an endless sky
that makes us endless until we die.
Endless as our daze, looking at the emerging twilight
endless as the multicoloured dreams of mankind,
endless as our pride, when we decide
to be endless over time, embracing side by side
our endless power of being blind.
Endless as this tale, that endlessly we'll buy
because endless is our right
to be endless in our time
and to endlessly come to light-
here and now, nullified:

We
are
eternal
