Mighty Death Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Mighty Death

I cry my eyes out
Melting the tears into vast pools of gray
Struggling, I can't seem to find my way

Fear pulls me closer
Drags my being in
And here he is

Staring into my eyes
Threats coming to my mind
Holding on is such a hard task

Giving in to him
Everything he wants
Is at his fingertips

My life, my soul, my heart
Is in his hands
And he just crushes it

You watch in awe
As he rises from the floor
The tricks he plays

He is brilliant
And controls us all
Whether we agree or not

He is the mighty master
He determines who comes and goes
He is the watchman of all our souls
He is the all mighty Death
