Mighty Shadows Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

Mighty Shadows

Heavenly night,
Mother to rich shadows
Shadows who got blinded by the blazing light,
And got buried alive in burrows of greedy realms
Black suns of appeal so rare
Their stories, mouth of time never tell
Their identity listed white and disparaged
Forgotten by gods they pray to and call
Indigo's children,
Gods in Babylon
Bowing to mortal man's creations
In search for mortal man's heavens
Servants of eternity,
Victims of humility
Black sheep, in silence, slaughtered
Torn in godly doctrines
And, it's their sweat that flood time's thirsty furrows
The sun weeps, feeling their pain
Its tears fuel their strength
Resuscitating their dying breath
To shine blacker in the naughty light
