Miles Apart Poem by Mary Rodriguez

Miles Apart

Nothing on earth can change how I feel
My love for you, I know this to be real
We've been tried, tested and brought to our knees
How often I have screamed out and cried out my pleas
Please don't take the one I hold dear to my heart
How hard it is to be so many miles apart
A touch of your hand or the smile on your face
These things are precious and can't be replaced
I miss you so much with each passing day
I try to show my love in every way
Most people will never know such a deep love
It's the most treasured gift from above
I'll give you every ounce of my heart
Promise me, we will never be apart
I have said this many times before
Good memories we still have in store
Everything happens for a reason is a quote people say
I try to remember that as I get through each day
Be happy and healthy, be all you can be
You surely mean the world to me
Be strong, I can't bare to see you cry
Every tear, I'll gently wipe from your eye
Your lips, I would tenderly kiss them everyday
I wish your fears I could take them away
Never doubt my love for you
It's the one thing I know to be true
