Mina Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Mina

Mina

With flag in her hand
On the roof, she stands.

Is in Minsk and resists
Like Black Elk, its Peak.

Sacred is that mountain
As is our freedom…

She wants life only if
Free with dignity…

Dictator is same as
Statues, carved to tell:
"Came, fooled you to stay."

So many have been killed
That one, two, is nothing.

The today's Belarus
Goes to Eve as its root.

Was blamed with insults,
Was ignored, vilified.

Women, and the oppressed
Became one, united,
Shout against injustice:
"We are worth and matter."

So, listen oppressors,
Abusers, dictators
And thieves and
Embezzlers…

Have had it, is enough
We stand, act as one
In fighting for our rights
Regardless of you and
Your position, place,
As well as where about.
