Minding Restless Leg Poem by Kimberly Burnham

Minding Restless Leg

Mind irritated by matter
8% of us
restless legs
bothersome sensations
deep within
itching, pulling, tugging,
sensations creeping and crawling

A strong urge to move
legs and arms
at night
at rest
off

Follow the urge move
by day
starting at the toes
drawing an alphabet soup
in cool evening air

Follow the urge to move
into the garden
picking iron loaded kale
fueling oxygen rich
red blood cells

Follow the urge to move
mind over matter
moved in the image
dreaming of running free
moves matter with mind
