Minds Apart Poem by Casey Gochnour

Minds Apart

And although we see things differently,
We never fall apart.
Letting an argument go gently,
Going back to a fresh start.

I know there might be some things I say,
Of course you may not agree.
But baby, you know me every which way,
You're always able to see.

With compassion and empathy,
Two of your powerful talents.
You never leave me feeling empty,
We rarely fall out of balance.

I'm sorry for our disagreements,
You know they'll come and go.
Never stopping our undying achievements,
Forever letting our love grow.

We work together, piece by piece,
Give much, take little.
Whether in the streets or between the sheets,
Never too soft, never too brittle.

Perfection in its very sense;
The very essence of the word.
Always at each other's expense,
Anything we need, no matter how absurd.

Hannah, I'll do anything to make you happy,
Please just remember this to be true.
And although it may sound sappy,
It's all because I love you.

And although we may think differently,
We will never fall apart.
Ideas may differ plenty,
But forever you'll remain in my heart.
