Mirror Poem by Ibn Ali

Mirror

You manifest my insecurities and emphasise my strengths,
To see how I'm perceived when out
I stare at you at length,
You show me what I fail to see,
When standing right in front of me,
You bear the marks of misfortunes passed
And show the man I've become,
You Hardly lie, but in some lights,
Can't help but feel belied,
You're happy when I'm happy
and reciprocate my smile,
When I frown you do the same in attempts to share the pain,
You tell the truth to spare the shame
When others walk away.
