Mirror On The Wall Of Life (For Dillip Swain) Poem by Jacson Gelato

Mirror On The Wall Of Life (For Dillip Swain)

Rating: 5.0

Don't lose the wonder of you
don't erase the demeanor of you
don't surrender the gentleness of you;

make the world look beautiful and true
make the words you write depict beauty in view
make the people who live unhappily to smile
make the people who err to change by themselves
for self-realization is a mirror on the wall of life
which shows the images one must reveal or conceal;

you are far above the mountain of knowledge
you are far above your own wisdom and talent
so keep up the value of others for what they are;

let not the ocean be called a heaven
let not the butterfly be called a bird
let not the tree be called a flower
as everyone and everything has its own worthiness
whether it is man who decides to be a clown
or whether it is a man who tries to be a president of a nation;

let us not speak for others what others must not speak for us,
correct not others as their mistakes makes us alert and cautious,
let us taste the sweetness of sugar to recede the flavor of spice
but the mirror on the wall of life no one can destroy or discard
it tells what we are and who we are and that makes life all so dynamic.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Thank you for your comment. I am more of a reader and less of a writer. Most of my works are contributions from my intellectual friends. You are so well-educated and highly qualified that I expect simplicity in you for we are wise but those who have not yet gained wisdom are also human.
