Mirrors Poem by shikha shanti

Mirrors

Rating: 5.0

The magical mirror
of life it seems

bringing us wakefulness
in the deepest of dreams

we see friends where they may be foes
and ask our sweethearts to leave and go!

honey is sweet upon the tongue
yet, when tasted, the sugar becomes

sour as we note the melody
of life's bitter sorrow in the life of the bee

Or we take lemon and find a surprise,
what was thought sour resembles the Sun rise..

cycles we go cycles we come
round and round unto karma's done

who is right and who is wrong
when we ponder the music
does it matter who sung?

Who then is friend and
Who can be foe

when we ponder this world
as it unfolds,

what can be bitter and what can be sweet?

who is there dreaming and who is asleep?

when we lay down to the Beloved's feet?

Are we not One, the One to keep!
