Mirrors Poem by Frumious Bandersnatch

Mirrors

“Perhaps, ” she whispered
“Maybe, ” he replied
Lulled by the hum of hollow words

“We’re so happy, ” she told the girl in the café
“We’re so happy, ” he told the man on the street

Their eyes meet only in the mirror,
Cardboard smiles at haggard faces.
