Misplaced Angel Poem by moon dust

Misplaced Angel

She looks into his eyes and says I love you
Does the things every good girl should do
But her mind, it's somewhere north of here
And I believe her heart is too

She sings a song that sounds just like a chorous
That's been sung by the sea and by the stars
And she whispers to the night that maybe someday
We can change where we go, but never who we are
She's just another misplaced angel, longing to find her way home
And she hopes he'll come back with her
But she knows she'll also go alone
She's just another misplaced angel
Longing to find her way home
And you know she'll be drawn back north of here
To the only places she's ever known

Night after night she lay crying
Wondering how she can live such a lie
Aching to be by the sea again
Knowing it will mean a goodbye

She sings a song that sounds just like a chorous
That's been sung by the sea and stars
And the wind outside is singing with her
You can change where you go but never who you are

She looks into his eyes and says I love you
Knowing he's got to love her too
And her heart, we'll it's right there with him
I believe his heart is too

And the sea is singing out a chorous
As she dances around all alone
And the stars are shining down upon her
Their misplaced angel has come home.
