Miss Rosemary Quin Poem by Francis Duggan

Miss Rosemary Quin

She has five children Miss Rosemary Quin
And they were fathered she say by two men
Liz, Joan and Dave's dad came from Pakistan
And Bill and Pearl's dad is an Englishman.

In case you get the wrong idea she say
I'm not unchaste nor i never was that way
It's just that i loved two men at different times
And that was years ago back in my prime.

Her youngest Pearl turned eighteen in July
And without her help her children now get by
She raised them well and did so on her own
And into decent people they have grown.

She loved two men but she never was a wife
And she don't have a man now in her life
She will tell you two times bitten three times shy
And she may not give love another try.

She admits that all men may not be untrue
But she's had bad experiences with two
One was unfaithful and the other liked his beer
And when drunk he beat her and him she grew to fear.

She has five children fathered by two men
And love's not been good to Rosemary Quin
And she say 'twice bitten three times shy'
And she may not give love another try.
