Missing That Summer, For Andrew Cruise Avila - Poem by Jana Courville

Why do I see you, so much of you,
I try so hard to forget,
And yer you linger on,
Every summer I fall once more,
Three years now and,
I still don't think I can hurt myself,
More than you've hurt me,
Although I already have,
I've passed your love, your anger, your torment, and your hate,
And now I am nothing,
I've lost myself trying to forget,
The pain I've caused myself is so great,
And even yet still penetrating into my mind,
I cry myself to sleep this night,
Thinking of you once more,
As our song comes on the radio,
But now unlike before,
I won't cut myself,
And build up the pain.

This reads like a journal entry, not a poem. It has emotion, but it takes more than emotion to write a poem. Sorry. (Report)Reply
