Missing You Poem by Mara Manzano

Missing You

Minutes turn to days and days turn to weeks
Since the last time I saw you as you speak
I didn’t want to let go of your hand that very day
But we have no choice for that is the price we have to pay

I sometimes think I’m crazy for feeling this way
When all the blue skies suddenly turn to gray
We’re not at war, in fact, we’re happy
But being far away from you is just so lonely

Yesterday we were laughing, today I have recalled
How we beat our virtual opponents with our tennis balls
I miss those nights when we’d walk to buy our favorite food
I really love it when you treat me both as your girl and as a dude

I’ll see you very soon my love and I can’t wait
We are not too far but being away from you is what I hate
Sorry if sometimes I forget about how much or why
But I know the moment I’ll see you, this shall pass by

Thank you for everything, I’ve been repetitive
My purpose is just for you to see my perspective
Here is another poem that I dedicate to you
To the only man who makes me hate the word adieu.
