Mistakes - Poem by Sumpter Carter

Yesterday the world was a different place My heart sang a different song It was all so much cleaner Unblackened by my sin. Now I truly regret The things I have done I wish I had not compromised, for one day of fun. Now my testemant a laughingstock My faith a sham I look back and think How did I get where I am? Forgiveness is a prayer away But I feel so empty Why can`t I stop the mistakes? Someone make me see. I won`t ever stop messing up But I shouldn`t give in so easily My defenses in this are Nonexistent.
