The Power Of Love - Poem by Fahima Mohideen

It's so very dark

She's here all alone
She's trying to find the light
But cant quite reach it.

It's wet and dark
She feels she cant make it
What will she do
Will she die here all alone?

The voices reach her
Multitudes at once
Swirling around
Calling out to her.

She hears them say -
I know you can do it,
But try as she might
She fears she'll fail them.

She hears them say -
You will never make it,
And feels despair;
Their voices are so strong.

And then she hears
A lone voice in the mist
Do what you must
I'll love you no matter.

It gives her strength
To climb the mountain
It lends the power
To carry the load.

For she knows now
She wont be judged
Even met with failure
She will be loved.

And thus so armed
With the power of love
She walked out there
Under the force of love.

They crowded around
Smothering her
The supporters and
discouragers likewise.

She ignored them all
Didn't see a face
But walked towards
The one who loved.

Into the open arms she walked
Gathered against a heart of love
And so it was our lady lived
A life happily ever after.
