Mistrust Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Mistrust

Mistrust

Lucy, now known, famous
Chimpanzee
Was murdered and skinned
Her mistake was simple
Loving man
And trust.

Cecil too faced same fate
Guard betrayed; killed hunter
Her mistake was simple
Loving man
And trust.

Now many animals have question:
“Does mankind worth trust? ”

The question is too old; passed around
By the hosts betrayed by new guests
Brutal invaders enslaved.

“A tour guide, Swales, was murdered”
Safari’s news said: “by lion…”
Zimbabwe.
