Mizzle - Poem by Marcus McKinley

I see the rain, within your eyes
Silently, my heart cries
It is not these tears of pain I shed
Instead, tears of joy…
but, why?

“When it rains, I think of you…”
Many times, I have expressed this in a poem
When the drops, fall from the sky
They bring my heart closer to home

Each caress, a kiss, from your soft lips
I cup my hands to drink you in
Refilling the memories that I miss
Within your eyes my world begins

Within my heart a silent tear
Prismatic in your warming light
Aching, when you are not here
And yearning to hold you, forever tight
