Mockery Of Justice Poem by Vinaya Joseph

Mockery Of Justice

In marble halls, where justice sits,
A grand facade of law permits,
The scales are tipped, the gavel's stroke,
In shadows whispers, 'Justice is a joke.'

For those with wealth, the gates swing wide,
In gold and silver, they confide,
Their power buys a silken yoke,
A whispered truth, 'Justice is a joke.'

The judges wear their robes of black,
But conscience lost, they can't bring back,
For coins have silenced what they spoke,
In hallowed courts, 'Justice is a joke.'

The poor and meek, they stand alone,
Their pleas unheard, their fates unknown,
A system bent, their spirits broke,
In every breath, 'Justice is a joke.'

Yet in this dark, a spark remains,
A hope for change amid the chains,
For voices rise, the truth evoke,
To shatter lies, 'Justice is a joke.'

So let us strive, with hearts unbowed,
To break the silence, shout aloud,
In unity, our strength will cloak,
Until no more, 'Justice is a joke.'
