Modern Audiences Poem by Dr John Celes

Modern Audiences

The logistics of entertaining the modern large audience
Of mega operas, music concerts, divine gatherings etc
Has become a colossal affair that has gone ‘high tech’
And complicated with modern gadgets of many kinds
Including lasers, cameras, mirrors, back-drops, giant LED screens
And lights and reflectors of unimaginable varieties and sound-systems
That has become mind-boggling and so spectacular that
The audience is kept on its toes and enjoying all the time
Almost like a frenzied mob that sings, dances and shouts
Swaying like waves of the mighty ocean in the night
Alit by the moonlight and the sunlight at the same time
At the wee hours of a newer dawn just before daybreak
Filling the hearts and minds of spectators with soul-stirring music
That takes the audience into dizzy heights of ecstasy and fantasy
Into a world of virtuality and surrealism that beats the best realistic
World that the panoramic universe can ever offer to mankind
Enthralling the crowds for hours on endlessly in a lively manner
Whose magic and appeal gives up such hype that they all feel
They already have entered the Elysium’s Lake of eternity
Where only angels tread and Gods and goddesses dwell.
