Modern Day Cowboy Poem by Bobby Mitchum

Modern Day Cowboy

I'm a modern day Cowboy
and the horse that I ride
is an old pickup truck
with a dent in the side.
My saloon is a bar
on the outskirts of town
where even the law
dont come around.
I aint rode no horses
aint even been out west
but you know I'm a cowboy
by the way that I dress.
Old wornout jeans
and a pair of old boots
and a 22 pistol that wont even shoot.
Some times I work
and some times I wont
some times I have to
but some times I dont.
I'm a modern day cowboy
and I like country songs
and back in the old days
is where I belong.
I'm a modern day cowboy
and I dont give a damn
and if you dont like me
then dont hang around.
