I close my eyes and all I see is you
Why can't you be with me
And feel the way I do
I want to feel you close to me
And hold you in my arms
But why can't you just let it be
And just learn to let go
Why can't you let that memory fade
Because we’re living in this moment now
Why I ask myself, today
As I stand here in this crowd.
Why do you hold on so dearly
When its all gone away
Realize that I am here for you
For now and every other day
Ask yourself this simple question
Am I truly happy or hallucinating?
Because baby I’m the one that cares for you
And you’ve kept me waiting.
See that I’m the one that wants you
Needs you and cares for you the most
Why not let go of that memory
Just like a forgotten ghost.
I promise you, you’ll be happier
We’ll be happier, if you just gave it a chance
But instead you’ve decided to hold on
Was it because of that slow dance?
All I want to say is that the past has past
She’s moved on and you have to too
Because she's happy with her new love
She smiles every day, so shouldn’t you?
