Momma's Little Boy Becomes A Father Poem by Poetic Philosopher

Momma's Little Boy Becomes A Father

Momma while I was inside of you
I could hear your heart beating, your mind thinking, and your emotions too
For me is all you ever talked about
Patiently waiting nine months for me to come crying out
To hold me in your arms, ever so tight
Just to say, ' My baby boy every things going to be alright'
Just remember that things are not always as it appears
So as days turned to months, and months turned to years
Age seemed to pass me by and I grew older
My heart became enclosed, it grew colder
Because momma I’m lost when you’re not by my side
For you’re my life; oh you’re my smile, because you’re my pride
And joy, momma I’m your little boy
I still remember all of the things we used to enjoy
I remember all of the things you have taught me
Loyalty, Respect, Honor, Love and Hospitality you see
Momma I live on in your name
And I promise that I will never bring us shame
For I fight for justice, I fight against hell
Because momma you sure raised this rebel well
So don’t you worry about the things I’m doing
And don’t you worry about the places I’m going
Because I promise that never in a lifetime will I let you down
For you always told me not to frown
To always stand strong and smile for others
You taught me to treat everyone as my sisters and my brothers
To respect everyone around me but most of all to respect the land
To be generous and to always be willing to lend a helping hand
But mom I haven’t been telling you the truth
Oh the things I have to say will bring back ten years of your youth
A secret so wonderful yet utterly surprising
So much that it can cause a huge uprising
Because mom you’re going to be a grandparent
And in my daughter’s life I don’t want you to be transparent
To be a role model within my daughter’s eyes
So mother please forgive me and all of my lies
I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you from the start
I’m sorry I put a big dent in your heart
I just didn’t know how I was going to tell you
When me myself I didn’t know too
But I promise you mom I’m going to be her dad
To wipe the tears from her eyes when she’s sad
I want to be there when she learns how to walk
To be there when she learns how to talk
I want to be there on her first birthday
Because I will always love her without delay
Mom you told me that if I was to be a good parent I have to care
Well the love I have for you and my daughter nothing can compare
For I want to be the dad that she can come to for anything
To maybe even occasionally spoil her with everything
Because mom I want to be in her life twenty-four seven
For she’s my beautiful angel sent from heaven
Filled with grace in every way known
She’s as beautiful as the frosty white snow
Oh I want to be there when she falls in love for the first time
To be the protective dad that will decline
Always not wanting her to grow up and date
But most of all I want to see her graduate
And to her say I’m a high school grad
Because when she says I love you dad
My heart jumps for joy and I’m filled with everlasting bliss
As I look on to the past and reminisce
For my baby girl is growing up so fast
The time we spent together has been a blast
So as you grow older and move on in life
I know that you’re going to be a lovely mother and wife
Just remember that daddies always going to be here when you need
To help you through and to help you succeed
So in the end all I can say is I love you in every way
And no one and nothing can ever take that away
Because my baby girl I love you
Because mom I love you
You’re my pride and my joy
The memories that we got to enjoy
Will never in lifetime fade away
For it will always remain in our hearts each and every day
Because mom, my baby girl you are my life
My world, my universe, you’re my whole existence
The reason for my strong resilience
And if you ask ill say I wouldn’t change a thing
For you’re my mom, and you’re my daughter, and I’m your king
And I love you with every inch of my heart
No one and nothing can ever tear us apart
FOR I LOVE YOU
