Mon Cherie Poem by Ibrahim Enitan Eniola Olubiyi

Mon Cherie

You are everything I am not,
You're strong when I am weak,
You're bold and courageous when fear grips my feeble heart,
A source of strength you have always been to me,
A reason to go on even when circumstance is saying otherwise,
Thou art an ordained strength for me,
Oh! My jewel of inestimable price!

Mon cherie,
Thou art Worth much more than I could ever deserve,
Much more than my bargaining power could ever have fetched,
Far exceeding my fairest wealth and wisdom,
Thou art a dream come true,
My priceless jewelry, Forever, I’ll cherish and love you!

Mon Cherie,
As a leopard can't change its skin,
As the rain falls and never returns without making impact wherever it drops,
As a river flows in one direction unable to turn back,
So shall my love for you stand through thick and thin,
As long as there is time,
So far the earth and heaven suffices,
I will forever love and cherish you,
My forever friend.
