The days feel long, the sparkle's dim,
My energy, a fading whim.
The years creep on, a gentle hum,
Making me feel a little numb.
No sudden joy, no lightning strike,
To fill me up, unlike alike.
The reasons weave, a quiet blend,
As 'older' shadows start to bend.
But now, tonight, a welcome call,
To meet my crew, stand up tall.
In Lakefield town, where peace we find,
Recharging spirit, heart, and mind.
No noisy bar, with chatter loud,
Lost in the faceless, restless crowd.
These are my folks, on common ground,
Where understanding can be found.
We share the path, the rise and fall,
Picking up pieces, through it all.
A different tune, a clearer sight,
In sober strength, a guiding light.
