Money Corrupts Poem by Francis Duggan

Money Corrupts

For their financial futures they have no cause for fear
These C E O's of big corporations who are paid millions in money each year
In a World where millions are dying of hunger and millions live in poverty
The unequal distribution of wealth seems ridiculous to me
The praises of the so called successful the impressionable may sing
But in a world where millions to life barely cling
If we see money as our ticket to renown
We have got our sense of values upside down
As their lust for success through money they pursue
Few to their higher selves can hope to remain true
And many do grow poorer for every new millionaire
It is a rat race in the big World out there
And tis true what we so often have heard before
That money corrupts and that more craves for more.
