Money is not everything,
Yet all is weighed upon its scale.
Dreams have a price, love is sold—
This cold coin, costlier than gold.
Conscience fades, hearts are shattered,
Worth is measured in fleeting shade.
Where is the love that once stood pure,
Unmoved by wealth's deceiving glare?
Where are the words, honest and true,
Weighed not by price, but faith alone?
This spinning coin drifts place to place—
Now here, now gone, never at rest.
A burden cast on truth's own scale,
It dims the light upon the lips.
A hand of fraud, a gilded mask,
That grants sweet dreams but steals all sight.
Earned through toil, yet peace eludes,
Drawn from earth, yet never whole.
A dazzling mirage that blinds the eye,
A fleeting glow—an empty sheen.
They claim, "It opens every door, "
Yet buys mere graves, leaves hearts undone.
Not good nor evil—just a test,
A veil that lifts at soul's command.
And when all gold is turned to dust,
What truly lasts is love and trust.
