Monica Poem by Jasmine Thompson

Monica

You were once a brave soul
only 13 and a cancer victim
You walked the halls of my school
let people laugh at your look of gloom
people mocked you for your hair
not even knowing why you never glared
I looked at you and thought you were weird
scared on the outside of who you might be.
I wish I had known your end was near
I would have tried to be friends, my dear
I hope you know that I don't understand
I won't say I will fore lying is bad
I hope you know you are missed
this school is empty of your bliss
You lived each day knowing of your death
And yesterday morning you took your last breath.
I just want you to know that we'll be fine
even with you leaving us behind.

Monica McDonald was just a child
she died 4/25/11at 7: 20am
Please remember my lost friend
