It was a cold wet morning in the month of June
My stomach was grumbling, felt it was already noon
I felt nervous, but tried to be cool
Finally it was the D-day for me to join school!
I entered the campus, saw this building so huge
The very thought of confinement, felt like I was taking refuge.
But I had to be strong, and I had to be stern;
Because this was the place which would teach me how to learn!
I sat in the classroom and felt everything was new
There was nobody familiar, not even a few
But I had to get acquainted, open up like a river
Because I had to make friends, who would last forever.
As the days passed by, the experience became fun
It made me feel, this was the best place under the sun!
Days turned into months, and months became years
My school molded me into a man, erasing all fears.
As I pen down the last lines of my memories
I begin to realize, they are more colorful than berries
There is one moment of life forever embedded in the heart of mine;
The day that changed my life was in the Monsoon of 99!
