Monster Poem by Samantha Schenk

Monster

Rating: 5.0

My life is perfect, I have everything I need.
But this voice inside, is one I must heed.

The voice is wanting, the voice is greed.
The voice will not stop from spreading the seed.

Seeds of anger and seeds of strife.
These are seeds that don't belong in my life.

This voice is a monster, a monster inside.
It will surly kill me, though very well I hide.

This monster inside, it shakes my soul.
It turns hope to dust, and love to coal.

This monster must go, I can take it no longer.
If it stays within me, I know I'm a goner.

This monster consumes all the good here.
So it is only screams of pain you can hear.

This monster has won, i can't go on.
My soul id now empty, and all my love is gone.
