Monster Memories Lullaby Poem by Melissa Mary

Monster Memories Lullaby

sweet dreams, little girl

sweet dreams and good night

don't think about that monster

that bothers you at night.

sweet dreams, little girl

sweet dreams and sleep tight

don't toss and turn, just go to sleep

push him away with all your might.

sweet dreams, little girl

sweet dreams and go fight

don't let him touch you again

if you need to, keep on the light.

sweet dreams, little girl

sweet dreams, and don't hide

there's nothing to be ashamed of

what that monster does isn't right.

sweet dreams, little girl

why won't you go to sleep? ? ?

i know you wake up screaming and crying

clenching your fists and grinding your teeth.

who will take care of you little girl?

i see that you can't fight

who will help you little girl? ? ?

how will you ever sleep at night?

sweet dreams, little girl

sweet dreams and good night

your mommy says time heals all

so i guess you won't sleep tonight.

she says he'll go away, little girl

but he always stays til dawn

then you fear the oncoming night

you want him to leave you alone.

calm down, little girl

you're the only one at home

your parents shouldn't have left you alone

but they did, so you have to calm down.

you have to face this monster yourself

just try to drown out his sound.

live your life if you can

sleep at night, if possible

fight this demon if needed

don't let him stay, he kills.

sweet dreams, little girl

sweet dreams and good night

don't think about that monster

that bothers you at night
