Moon Angel Poem by Rik Bertrand

Moon Angel

I have been swept away and forgotten,
I spend my days and nights alone.
All for the love of a mortal man,
One kiss, on the beach, in the sand.

Protect and care for, but do not touch,
Defend from evil, and stay on path.
Only one rule did I break that night,
And for that rule I was set a flight.

I have be vanquished to far out reaches,
To a place where my meaning is lost.
I have become one with the stars above,
All because I fell in love.

I am the Moon angel; I am so alone,
And I am waiting for the Lord's decree,
Oh, how I wish he would set me free,
So I may once again a human be.

Moon Angel, Moon Angel, Oh, so alone
Moon Angel, Moon Angel, Oh, so alone.
I wait for the Lord to do what is right,
And Release me from this moon tonight.

REB (MARCH 2012) because it's lonely on the moon for an angel. Photo by Nina Lipkin Art.
