Moonlight - Poem by Lynzi Berner

I walk outside
moonlight fights
with street lamps
for the privilage
of bathing the
shadows in its glow

I feel the dead leaves
crunching and breaking
under my feet
The wind envelops me
in her icy grip

I sit upon a dead log,
died long ago
but still strong and heavy
How I find you
in the oddest places

I think of you
the wind blows again
Why do you suddenly feel so cold?
