Morning - Poem by Mary Roach

A chilly, cloudy morning
Awakens the new day
The birds are singing restlessly
I hope they’ve come to stay

The grass is calm and green
Lightly sprinkled with dew
The sun’s coming over the horizon
Filling the sky anew

The trees are swaying in the breeze
Moaning from the strain
Shaking the water from their leaves
Making it feel like rain

I love the sweet smell of morning
How it brightens up a new day
So I go out and enjoy it
In every single way
