Morning’s A Memory Poem by guillermo veloso

Morning’s A Memory

Memories lap
Upon my dream-shore
Like the morning tide
They stain my sands
Names, faces and glances
Fade and emerge
The heart races and eyes twitch
Across time and place
Until I am left
Quiet in effigy
A Plantagenet
Reposed in
Marble stillness
And wry smile
