Morph Poem by Alyssa Lippi

Morph

Young child, baby girl
pulled out of a place
of known comfort, protection, safety
And pushed, prematurely, into leadership
A position and burden
of worrying, hardship
A metaphorical mother, , protector, ,
All her needs, hopes, dreams
pushed aside, , it doesn't matter,
She HAD to protect them
HAD to love them
HAD to care for them
there was no one else who would
and they NEEDED her
but, , she thinks, ,
who will protect me
love me
care for me
? ? ?
She NEEDS you.
