Mortal Man Poem by Faith Nzisa

Mortal Man

As these little warm tear drops roll down my cheeks,
I can't help but wonder how many people can understand me,
How many will understand whatever am feeling,
How many will have a solution to this wounded soul.

Sympathy, i don't require, it didn't solve my puzzles,
Fights, I don't need, they only fuel the fire in my heart,
Consolations, I don't need, they only sound like noise to my ears,
Wise Counsel, I don't need, it only complicates the situation.

But I came to a realization that:
Mortal man may not comprehend the simplest of situations but God does,
Mortal man may not know the right words to speak but God does,
Mortal man may only give counsel but God gives wisdom,
Mortal man may not feel your pain and anguish but God does,
Mortal man is simply mortal, and the breathe is only for a while.

With all this said, am a mere mortal and my life is simply a gift,
As a mortal on my own I can't and for that,
I Let God be God.
Grace and peace
