Please tell me what happened
What have I done wrong
I thought that as a mother and daughter
We had a bond that was so strong

But someway and somehow
We have lost our connection
Both of our worlds have changed
It's our pride we're protecting

Maybe I have done things wrong
But my intentions were always good
I know there probably were times
When things were misunderstood

But tell me is that a reason
To go and throw it all away
When you and I both know
We can build a better day
