Mother Dearest Poem by Alyson Leoffler

Mother Dearest

Rating: 4.0

If my end is my beginning, than why am I so insecure?
If you say your war is ending, will you need me like you did before?
You said we were connected, but you walked right out the door...
You say that I have power, than why do I feel so poor?
I put so much faith in you, only to sadly find...
That you were slowly leaving me, but building up my mind.
We were supposed to be an energy, only two-of-a-kind...
Tell me why I feel so empty now, since you left me behind?
I thought that you had love for me, you said you'd never leave...
I wish I'd known just how you felt, known the tricks held up your sleeves.
You opened up my eyes, my love, but I'd like to still believe...
That in the end, things won't end up like this, and you'll come back for me.
