Mother I Wept Poem by Bright Ejiofor

Mother I Wept

Rating: 5.0

Memories still fresh
Like just yesterday
Can I forget? no!

Lay on sick bed
Few minutes, few hours;
Time ticking away

Reversed but never to be
Stood was I beside you
Helplessly I watched

Mother I wept
Away death steals you
From your loved children

God knows why
That you left
To the world beyond

Mother I wept
In peace you rest
Till we part no more
