Mother, Remember I Miss You Poem by xin lee

Mother, Remember I Miss You

Today, May 12th 2028, the 20th anniversary of the disastrous earthquake.
I,20 years and 3 months old, a survivor of the chilling earthquake.
20 years ago, I stayed asleep and survived from the earthquake under your
arms, with your mobile phone in my receiving blanket.

I remembered it’s just two days after the mother’s day
when you dedicated your life to me.
I remembered it’s just three months after my birth
when you leaved me to the heaven yourself.

I would nerver forget the mobile phone
which is still glistering the glory of your love.
I would nerver forget the last words
you leaved on the phone screen.
I would never forget that
“Dear baby, if you stay alive, remember I love you”.
I would also never forget
your strange but familiar face in the photo album of the phone.

It’s the earthquake,
which shaked me from my dreams.
It’s you, my dear mother, who gives me twice lives.
Dear mother, are you fine in the heaven.
Dear mother, if you can hear my shouting,
please never worry about me,
because your love would light up my way forever.
Dear mother, I miss you!
