Mother’s Day is special
It means so many things
Many kinds of women
Are motherly, it seems
And does it have to be
A woman every time?
Men as well are motherly
Raising children too, I find
It’s the person who is there
When a child cries out at night
Nursing them through illness
And trying hard to do it right
It’s not just giving birth
For that is the simple part
It’s the caring for the child
Right from the very start
It’s doing what it takes
To nurture and to love
To teach right from wrong
And about God up above
So for those raising children
I would truly like to say
For every precious one of you
Have a special Mother’s Day!

Thank you Marilyn, and you have a very happy Mother's Day also. You have written this very well and I love how you include the men in this too. A mother isn't just the woman anymore, it can be the man too. I love it. A 10+++++ and thank you for sharing. Love & hugs, Barbara
