Motherhood Wins! Poem by Jacson Gelato

Motherhood Wins!

Rating: 5.0

I was always there
for her when she needed me,
suddenly he came from Italy
dark eyes and expensive car had he,
romantic, mesmerizing teenager was she
waiting for a similar partner to fall in love.
Where it all started, where it all ended
was just so quick,
in nine months she came back home
with a baby;
and all I could do was ask myself -
is this all what love gives?
modesty, dignity displaced
yet motherhood takes on its duty
with pride.
